Desify Lebanese: Tandoori Artichoke

Lebanese food has earned many fans across the globe. And why not! The Mediterranean cuisine is deliciously versatile and offers a great variety for both vegetarians and non vegetarians.

Artichokes are popular in Europe and the Mediterranean region. The Lebanese usually stuff or serve it with meat. But here’s a desi lip smacking recipe which will be irresistible for sure:

4 artichokes washed, stems removed and sliced

1/2 cup grated paneer (cottage cheese)

2 teaspoon red chili paste

2 tablespoons ginger and garlic paste

2 teaspoon chaat masala

1 1/2 teaspoon of the masala

1 tablespoon canola oil

2 tablespoon curd

2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon garam masala


  1. Pre heat the oven to 200 degree celsius.
  2. Mix all the ingredients-garam masala, salt, chaat masala, red chili paste, ginger garlic paste together with curd and cottage cheese.
  3. Marinate the artichoke slices in this paste and place them on a greased baking tray.
  4. Drizzle oil over them and place them in the oven.
  5. Bake for about 20 minutes till they get roasted properly.
  6. Serve with green garlic  chutney or tomato chutney.
